50th hospital charity selects Harlequin CRM software

50th hospital charity opts for Harlequin CRM as its fundraising software solution

CW+ (the charity for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital) is the 50th hospital charity to invest in customer relationship management (CRM) software from Harlequin to assist its growing fundraising team.

The charity required nine licences for the standard CRM database for everyday donor stewardship and for the management of campaigns, legacies, grants and major donors. It has also purchased the events module.

Kerry Huntington, Head of Fundraising at CW+ explains: “We had become disenchanted with our old system as it did not meet our needs. It was important to implement more user-friendly software to function across teams.

“Fundamentally, Harlequin CRM will help us to be accountable to our supporters and ensure that the team feel empowered, not limited, to do their work. It will keep data centralised so that every donor remains on our radar; we will plan when we need to talk to them using alerts and get to know personalities more with the contact management tools. We will also be able to connect contacts on the system to show the influence of key donors and volunteers.

“The software will enable us to streamline fundraising. For example, our Trusts & Foundations Manager already has a template to standardise her work. Another example is that we will send out six-monthly impact reports at certain giving levels, such as to major donors.  We will be able to manage donor reception events and track gifts in kind, including our vast artwork collection.

“From the three suppliers shortlisted, Harlequin set the bar with an invigorating demonstration and subsequent communications. Of Harlequin CRM, our new Data Officer said it is the database she “has always wanted”. The Harlequin team are incredibly ‘can-do’ and initial training has brought to life the possibilities we could achieve, leaving us feeling very excited!”

Tom Ellis, Managing Director of Harlequin says: “We are already forging a strong working relationship with CW+. The fundraising team are clearly driven to make the most of Harlequin CRM with great enthusiasm and a clear vision.

“More and more hospital charities are undertaking high profile campaigns and large scale events, whilst managing daily ward donations and regular appeals – so specialist fundraising software is essential. Hospitals are an important part of the Harlequin world and we are delighted to have achieved this 50th milestone.”

In its use of Harlequin CRM, CW+ joins, among others, Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust, Alder Hey Children’s Charity, Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals Charitable Funds, Sheffield Hospitals Charity and Southampton Hospital Charity.
