Galloway’s goes live on Harlequin CRM to underpin fundraising and communications

Galloway’s Society for the Blind has gone live on Harlequin CRM to underpin its fundraising activities, which includes ensuring that supporters with sight loss receive communications correctly.

Each year, Galloways’ needs to raise £1 million to deliver its services to blind and partially sighted people, including four Sight Advice Centres. For its fundraising team, the charity has invested in the standard Harlequin CRM database for donor stewardship and for the management of campaigns, grants, major donors and legacies. In addition, it has opted for the Events module and will also link to Sage.

Claire Warner, Head of Fundraising at Galloway’s says: “We were using an aging, finance based CRM system that was unsupported and rapidly becoming unfit for purpose – for example we couldn’t search historic donations and each transaction would take 10-15 minutes to process. With Harlequin we will win back the time our old system used to demand – freeing up fundraisers to spend more time with supporters, planning events and creating well-targeted campaigns.

“We need to accurately record how people want to be contacted. If supporters have opted for braille or audio descriptions, if we enter these communication preferences we need to be 100% confident the system won’t let us down when we deliver campaigns and mailings. Now when I ask the team to run a report on the system or extract a mailing list, they don’t hide under the desk!

“After considering four charity software suppliers, we selected Harlequin CRM as it was the most intuitive and made the most sense. We were pleased with the customer recommendations we obtained and the responses Harlequin provided to our many questions.”

Tom Ellis, Managing Director of Harlequin adds: “After a smooth data transfer and go-live, training sessions have been well received. Galloway’s clearly are a highly driven, organised and meticulous team – we look forward to supporting them with their future goals.”
