2019 promises to be an exciting year for product development here at Harlequin
This is the first of a series of blogs from our Head of Product and Operations, Martin Hills. The aim is to shine a spotlight on key features in our software, report what’s happening with our roadmap and look at customer feedback.
It’s been another busy year for CRM development, particularly around Consent and our ‘Design’ module, which is used by clients to manage all aspects of their charity including fundraising, membership, volunteers and service delivery.
Key developments on our roadmap for the year ahead include:
– Third-party Integrations – new and improved integrations with HMRC (Gift Aid), Mailchimp and JustGiving;
– Harlequin API – we are in the process of rolling out this new functionality to early adopters. This will enable clients to connect third-party solutions, such as websites, direct to Harlequin;
– Dashboard – newly designed dashboard with enhanced reporting and customisable layout;
– Queries – re-design and functionality improvements including a new Query Wizard;
– User generated web forms.
Harlequin Charitable Accounting
The general roll-out of the new Charity Accounting system continues. Feedback on the new system has been very positive with the new features proving incredibly useful. If you haven’t received it yet, we will be in touch to discuss the process and arrange dates and times.
Future developments include:
– Directorate level statements;
– Increased integration and reconciliation with Harlequin CRM;
– Data management facilities;
– New Debtors and Creditors modules;
– Manager Web-Portal.
2018 has seen us restructure and expand our development team. Jonathan Nash is now our Head of Development and we are delighted with the progress already being seen. He has been busy hand-picking his development team to ensure we have the resources to strive forward.
Our two CRM focus groups held in Newbury and Manchester were hugely successful with many great ideas put forward. These ideas will greatly influence our development in the new year, particularly around the dashboard, queries and reporting, and usability.
Quarterly product newsletter which will include details of recent/upcoming releases, roadmap updates, hint and tips and sector thoughts. We have heard loud and clear how clients want to hear more about our software development and what we offer in terms of modules and services. Therefore, we shall also be producing a regular customer success newsletter keeping you abreast of training opportunities, events, services and best practice, as well as the main newsletter you will be used to. Do let any member of the team know you wish to sign up if you haven’t already done so.
2019 will see the launch of our new ‘Harlequin Ideas’ portal which will allow clients to submit, vote and view progress on feature requests and ideas. This will also enable us to easily communicate, alongside the newsletter, current development progress and releases. Equally, if you have any thoughts or ideas on development you can also now send these to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Finally, we are on the look-out for more clients who wish to become part of our early-adopter and development group. We are particularly keen to hear from clients who are looking at web-enabled solutions. This is a great opportunity to be at the forefront of system development including exclusive access to early-release software, assist with testing and generally help influence the direction of the software.
