HMS Warrior Brings Harlequin On Board as Visitor Numbers Soar
Warrior Preservation Trust Limited has selected Harlequin Software to underpin CRM, fundraising and visitor management.
Launched in 1860, HMS Warrior was the pride of Queen Victoria’s fleet. Restored and back at home in Portsmouth, she now serves as a living museum, visitor attraction, education centre and private hospitality venue. At present the Trust employs 32 staff, supported by 70 dedicated volunteers; these figures are set to rise due to considerable growth in visitor numbers to HMS Warrior and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
Along with the central Customer Relationship Management (CRM) & fundraising database for contact and campaign management, the Trust has opted for the Events, Volunteers, Merchandise and Lottery modules from Harlequin.
The Trust’s core purpose is to preserve and present HMS Warrior as the world’s first modern battleship and to demonstrate life at sea in the Victorian Navy. In relation to a bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), investing in technology to expand fundraising and improve operational performance was a key business driver for the Trust.
Tim Ash, Captain of HMS Warrior and CEO of the Warrior Preservation Trust explains: “Our motive for investing in new charity management software is to achieve improved and more automated CRM as we ramp up our fundraising to match a successful HLF bid. In addition, we need to enhance the management of our ever increasing visitor numbers which we share with our partners, the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.”
